Nut splitters are great tools for getting out stuck bolts quickly. They work by splitting the fastener to free the bolt. However, if the bolt is inside a counterbore, it 's impossible to get it out using this tool. You can use a bolt extractor but it would take too much time and effort because you'd still need to drill a hole into the bolt. An extractor is effective in removing damaged bolts but can be too complicated. You need to drill a hole that matches the size of the extractor. If you drill a hole that's too big, the extractor might not have enough grip to take the bolt out. If the hole is too small, driving the extractor in will cause the bolt to expand. This increases the friction between the fastener and the bolt thread, making removal difficult. An easier method of removing bolts is to use the Super Socket.
